Welcome to Dirtbag Knits
Dirtbag knits was born in the basement of my childhood home. I had just finished a crazy six months, graduating college, playing cowgirl on a dude ranch, and spending three consecutive weeks alone in the woods while thru-hiking the John Muir Trail. Soon after returning to Michigan, I longed to be back on the road, living freely. The dictionary defines dirtbag as, “a dirty or unkept person” And I think most people could agree. But after being that “dirtbag”, I realized I had never been more happy. In the woods, the last thing anyone cares about is a shower.
Knitting is something that can be done anywhere. On the couch, in a tent, or my favorite, on a walk. I spent a lot of time knitting on my adventures, when there was time of course. I would rush to finish a piece just so I could wear it on my hike the next morning. The idea of being able to provide myself and others with accessories and clothing they can rock at any point brings me so much joy. On trail, their day job, or any adventure. Dirtbag knits are for anyone at anytime.
